Your Privacy Choices
Last updated: May 30, 2026.
This page describes the rights available to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). It is provided in English because the rights it documents are defined by California law.
What we collect
Aurora Arcana is designed to work without a traditional account. On first launch the app generates an anonymous identifier (a random UUID) that is stored locally on your device. That identifier is what links your reading history, mood logs, and Aurora chat to our database. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, government ID, or persistent device identifier — unless you voluntarily provide a display name in Settings. See our full Privacy Policy for the complete list of data categories.
Right to opt out of sale or sharing
Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing for you to opt out of. If our practices ever change, this page will be updated and a clear opt-out mechanism will be added before any sale or sharing begins.
You can still send us a confirmed opt-out preference for the record. Submitting the form below opens your email client with a pre-filled message addressed to our privacy contact. Please include your anonymous ID (found in the app under Settings → About → Anonymous ID) so we can locate the correct profile.
If the form does not open your email client, send a message
manually to
[email protected]
with the subject line CCPA opt-out — anonId and
include your anonymous ID in the body.
Right to know
You have the right to know what personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, and (where applicable) sold or shared about you in the preceding 12 months. The categories and purposes are documented in full in our Privacy Policy.
To obtain a copy of the personal information tied to your anonymous ID, use the in-app export: open the app and go to Settings → Privacy → Export my data. The export is generated on demand and includes your readings, Aurora chats, mood entries, and preferences. If you cannot access the in-app export, email [email protected] with your anonymous ID.
Right to delete
You have the right to request deletion of personal information we have collected about you, subject to the exceptions listed in California Civil Code § 1798.105(d). Because we do not maintain a login, deletion is keyed to your anonymous ID. The fastest way to delete everything is via our account deletion page, which walks you through removing your data from the server and clearing local storage on your device.
Right to correct
The only personal information we store that you could need to correct is the optional display name you set in Settings. You can edit it at any time in Settings → Profile. No identity verification is required because the field is voluntary and self-attested.
Right to non-discrimination
We will not deny you service, charge a different price, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised any of the rights described on this page.
Authorized agents
You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. The agent must provide written permission signed by you, and we may ask you to verify your identity directly before acting on the request.
How we verify requests
Because the app is account-free, verification is based on your knowledge of the anonymous ID stored on your device. We will only act on requests that include the correct anonymous ID, and we will respond only to the email address from which the request was sent.
